When I first realized Nikoleta was writing about vine, I got very excited. Nikoleta’s description of how Vine got popular after it was cancelled is the exact experience I had with it. I never had an account and never really heard of or watched any Vines while it was around; however, the minute Vine died, I felt like I heard about it everywhere. Because of the new craze surrounding Vine after it was gone, I had to see what all the hype was about. I began to see videos all over my Twitter feed, Instagram feed, and on the internet. It was like I could not escape it, but I enjoyed every video I came across. They were so hilarious and extremely relatable; I did not understand why I just now found interest in Vine, but I guess I am just like every other person and do not catch interest in something until everyone is talking about it. One video that I found especially funny that Nikolata pointed out was “The First Time Someone had Twins” vine. I had seen this one before, and the incongruity and benign theory is very prevalent throughout the video, as well as the relief theory. When Demetrius and Angelo make unexpected comments like “keep pushing like a push-up" it causes everyone to laugh. Also it is very humorous when the kids come out talking because obviously that would never happen so it is unexpected causing you to laugh. The relief theory can be seen throughout the video too because giving birth is a very hard and painful experience, and their jokes lighten the mood and make it not as serious. Vine is a very good source of humor and comedy theories can be seen throughout the different videos posted. I am very glad Nikoleta chose to discuss Vine because it is very relevant in our society today.

  1. How does it continue to be relevant to you think? What is the legacy of Vine?
